Acting on behalf of the University of Exeter, Haarer Goss has been instructed to let a new ground floor retail premises on the University campus.
The Great Hall building is situated in the heart of the University within Devonshire House and linking with The Forum, which is now the centrepiece and hub of the campus.
The retail premises will be available on the ground floor in the current entrance foyer area of the building. This new retail outlet will be using part of the existing structure on site, and a part newly built and designed by the University. The work is expected to start next month (in June 2015) and be available to occupy by a tenant in August, ahead of the new academic year.
The shop will extend to approximately 548 square feet (50.93 square metres), and this also includes a rear storage area. There is also the benefit of a nearby separate storage facility which measures approximately 95 square feet (8.80 square metres). The shop will be fitted out with a new suspended ceiling and new lighting, together with decorated walls and a new carpet. Otherwise, the shop will be available to be fitted out by a tenant to suit their own individual requirements.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to occupy retail premises in the hub of the main University campus. Although the premises would suit a variety of uses, the University is ONLY interested in a campus bookshop for students and staff. The shop will need to supply academic textbooks and provide specific readings lists.
